Pedestrian, Parking Changes Coming to Downtown Concord
Diagonal crossing removed from Pleasant, Main Street intersection; two-way traffic, paid parking to re-start soon.

With construction nearing an end on North Main Street, there will be some changes that coincide with the completion of work, according to the Main Street Project.
For staters, pedestrians should note the changes that will be taking place at the Pleasant Street intersection by next week’s end. The new system, which is meant to increase efficiency, includes the removal of the diagonal crossing at the intersection. Once the new system is in place, pedestrians will be alerted by visual and audio signals. We ask that you follow these signals and not go rogue and make your own paths. Stick to the new crosswalks.
As both lanes open back up to traffic on North Main Street, the city will also be reinstating paid parking on North Main St. Nov. 16 will be the first day for paid parking to resume. Parking kiosks will be located on sidewalks on both sides of the street. Don’t get ticketed.
