Pembroke Academy Placed in Lockdown Due to Threat

The headmaster at the school later determined the threat to not be credible, according to alerts.

PEMBROKE, NH - Pembroke Academy was placed in lockdown at just after noontime on Feb. 2, 2016, due to a threat, according to parents receiving an alert.

Parents were alerted to the lockdown but then it was lifted about 20 minutes later after the threat was determined to not be credible, according to an alert received by parents.

According to Police Chief Dwayne Gilman, the threat was writing on a wall but everything is clear at the school.

This is at least the fourth time in the last year that the school has been placed in lockdown or received threats.

This is at least the second lockdown at a high school today in New Hampshire.

Exeter High School was placed in lockdown due to a student safety issue. That lockdown was also quickly lifted, according to alerts online.
