Pittsfield Man Injured in Tractor-Tractor Crash

NHSP: A chip hauler crashes after reportedly trying to make a turn this morning.

JEFFERSON, NH — A local man was injured this morning after reportedly rolling over his tractor-trailer truck while attempting to navigate a turn, according to New Hampshire State Police. Troopers were sent to the crash – located at the intersection of Route 2 and Route 115 at just before 9 a.m. on March 13, 2017.

“Responding troopers arrived on scene and found a tractor-trailer truck had rolled over and was blocking the westbound lane of Route 2,” according to Staff Sgt. Victor Muzzey of Troop F. “Preliminary investigation revealed a 2007 Western Star Tractor Unit, hauling a chip trailer, being operated by (a 64-year-old man from) Pittsfield, had been traveling north on Route 115 and was attempting to make a left turn onto Route 2 eastbound when it rolled over, coming to final rest in westbound lane of Route 2.”

The driver, who has not been charged, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Weeks Hospital in Lancaster. There were no other injuries reported and no other vehicles involved in the incident, Muzzey noted.

Units assisting at the scene, included personnel from the New Hampshire State Police-Troop F, New Hampshire State Police-Troop G, Jefferson Fire Department and Lancaster EMS.
