Police: Laconia Man Left Death Threat Voice Mail

Shaine Beaulieu arrested in Concord on criminal threatening, drug charges.

A Laconia man is expected to be arraigned in court next week on charges that he threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend and her fiancée.

Shaine A. Beaulieu, 21, of Union Avenue in Laconia, was arrested at 6:25 p.m. on Dec. 17, 2014, on two counts of possession of prescription drugs without a prescription and two counts of criminal threatening.

According to arrest reports, officers were sent to an apartment on Clinton Street for a report of a man banging on a door threatening to kill another man inside the apartment.

Officers made contact with the complainant and her fiancée who identified the man as Beaulieu and noted that he had already left the scene in a “mossy oak” sweatshirt and black sweatpants. The woman surmised that he might have a firearm, since he reportedly had access to a .45 caliber handgun.

The woman alleged that she had previously been involved with Beaulieu for about three months and that he allegedly assaulted her in the past.

“She was scared that Beaulieu is going to hurt her again,” the officer reported.

Beaulieu allegedly made 10 phone calls to her and wouldn’t stop calling. He allegedly threatened to kill her during one of the phone calls and left a voicemail threatening to kill her fiancée. Beaulieu later allegedly showed up at the apartment and was banging on the door.

The fiancée related similar information, noting that Beaulieu reportedly had anger management issues and was aggressive, and called him a rapist.

The officer listened to the voicemail and a man could be heard suggesting that the woman’s boyfriend come down to McDonald’s to “get some” and that “he’s (redacted) lucky that I didn’t kill him,” giving credence to the woman’s “fear as the male in the voicemail had expressed his thoughts about kill (her) boyfriend,” the officer reported.

Another officer went to McDonald’s and checked the area but didn’t see Beaulieu anywhere.

While at the apartment, Beaulieu called again, according to the reporting officer. The woman answered and put it on speakerphone so the officer could hear Beaulieu allegedly “yelling and continuously screaming at her.”

The officer later learned that Beaulieu might be meeting other people at Market Basket to get a lift home. The second officer and another officer went to Market Basket but didn’t see him there either. The reporting officer later found out that Beaulieu was at Uno’s Restaurant recharging his cellphone. The other officers caught up with him outside of LL Bean.

Beaulieu was frisked and did not have a firearm but allegedly did have a Hannaford bag containing two pill bottles with prescriptions belonging to the woman and he was arrested on drug charges.

The ex-girlfriend later explained that she was discharged from the hospital recently and had the prescriptions with her but alleged that Beaulieu stole them from her.

The reporting officer went to speak to Beaulieu about the case. He allegedly told the officer that his ex’s fiancée had given him permission to take the prescriptions. The fiancée was re-interviewed and denied the allegation.

Beaulieu is due in court on Jan. 26.

Back in July 2014, he was arrested at The Friendly Kitchen on a simple assault charge. He was also charged with criminal trespass in Laconia District Court recently.
