Police: Man Stole Jewelry, Pawned it in Manchester

Dunbarton Police arrested Justin Sherman on warrants earlier this week.

Area police investigators believe that they have a man responsible for a jewelry theft last year at a home in Dunbarton.

Justin Sherman, 28, of Mansion Road in Dunbarton, was arrested on Jan. 21, and charged with receiving stolen property and theft by deception.

According to police, in October 2014, officers were called to a residential burglary on Barnard Hill Road where jewelry was stolen. During the course of the investigation, they were able to determine that Sherman allegedly pawned several pieces of the stolen jewelry in Manchester.

“The jewelry was recovered,” noted Sgt. Chris Remillard of the Dunbarton Police Department.

Remillard stated in a press release that the department worked with Manchester Police to uncover the person they believe was responsible for the theft. Manchester issued arrest warrants and Dunbarton picked up Sherman at his home.
