Police Seek Info on Possible Criminal Threatening Incident

Concord Regional Crimeline issues alert about alleged gun threat incident in the South End last week. Do you know the man in this photo?

Police investigators are seeking information about a man who allegedly pointed a gun at two kids in the area of Thorndike and Pierce streets last week, according to a Concord Regional Crimeline alert.

According to Lt. Timothy O’Malley, the commander of the criminal investigations unit, police received a 911 call around 3 p.m. on May 20, 2015, with two juveniles alleging that a man pointed a gun at them.

When the officers arrived, they spoke with an adult who stated that the children ran into her house after the incident and she called police. The officers spoke with the juveniles and they alleged that a white man wearing sunglasses looked at them while they were on the corner. The man was on the opposite side of the street.

“The juveniles said that the male said ‘wassup’ (what’s up?) to them and they ignored him,” according to O’Malley. “He reportedly said ‘wassup’ a second time to which the juveniles turned and responded in kind. At this point, the juveniles said the male subject pulled a gun out from somewhere in his waist and pointed it right at them. The juveniles said that the male appeared to be on his cell phone at the time.”

When they saw the gun, the juveniles fled the area, according to the report. The man then walked down Thorndike toward South Street.

The man was described as skinny, white, and bald, in his 20s or 30s, wearing sunglasses, and a Gucci jacket. The jacket was green, red, and black, similar to a windbreaker that zips up. The man was also wearing chains around his neck. The gun was described as silver and large.

Investigators were able to recover a surveillance photo from a nearby location at the same time of the incident and are asking for assistance in identifying the man in the photo. O’Malley said the man is being identified as an “individual of interest” in the case.
