Power Joins Canterbury Shaker Village
Former education assistant returns as membership coordinator

Canterbury Shaker Village is pleased to announce that Meghan Power has been hired as the new Membership Coordinator for the National Historic Landmark and museum, according to a press statement.
Power is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer who worked at the Village previously as the Education Assistant. In her new position as Membership Coordinator she will be responsible for stewarding and expanding the Village’s membership program.
Most recently, Power was an Agriculture and Food Security Volunteer with the U.S. Peace Corps in Nicaragua where she organized and led programs for youth and adults, secured funding for scholarships and infrastructure projects, and created two community banks. Prior to joining the Peace Corps, Power worked as the Educational Assistant at Canterbury Shaker Village where she coordinated volunteers and helped to organize and implement educational programs, workshops, and events. Power also has worked with the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge in Yuma, Arizona and the Squam Lakes Association in Holderness. Powers holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Plymouth State University, where she graduated magna cum laude.

“As the Village begins a new season, we are thrilled to have Meghan joining our staff in the newly created position of Membership Coordinator,” said Funi Burdick, Executive Director. “Under Meghan’s leadership members can, among other things, look forward to an increased number of members-only events this season, including our Spring Members’ Reception on May 19.”

The Village is part of the Experience New Hampshire Heritage: The Portsmouth to Plymouth Museum Trail (nhmuseumtrail.org). Canterbury Shaker Village, located at 288 Shaker Road in Canterbury, New Hampshire, is open daily in 2015 fromMay 16-October 24 and weekends in November.
