Update: The High Street fire was quickly knocked down this morning but now, a number of residents are without housing.

CONCORD, NH — A fire this morning in Penacook has left a number of apartment dwellers displaced and now, the American Red Cross is assisting them, according to a press statement. Six people are currently without housing after a fire in an apartment building on High Street at the corner of Summer Street. Dan Brown of the Red Cross stated action teams have met with the residents to ensure that everyone has a safe place to sleep as well as food, clothing, and other essentials.

“Over the next several days, Red Cross client casework volunteers will stay in contact with the family and provide referrals, as they begin their road to recovery,” Brown noted.
