Pembroke Academy in Pembroke was placed in lockdown on Nov. 19, 2015, for a reported threat at the school, according to parents and students at the school who posted messages on social media.
The parents of Pembroke high school students were called at just before 1 p.m. informing them about the lockdown. At least four police cars and a state trooper are at the school, according to students posting notes on Twitter and Facebook.
About 10 to 15 minutes into the lockdown, students began speaking about the lockdown on Twitter.
“Is this pembroke academy or Paris?,” remarked one student while another asked, “Why is Pembroke Academy NH in lockdown?”
Pembroke Police Chief Dwayne Gilman was unable to return an email request for comment about the lockdown before post time.
This is at least the third time in the last nine months that the school has been placed in lockdown or received threats.
