Trooper Struck at Turnpike Traffic Stop; SUV Fled the Scene
New Hampshire State Police are searching for a light colored, early 2000s, Chevy Trailblazer, after accident this morning in Merrimack.

MERRIMACK, NH - The New Hampshire State Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a vehicle that reportedly struck a state trooper this morning during a traffic stop on the southbound side of the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack on May 22, 2016.
At around 2:30 a.m., a trooper stopped a vehicle in the area of Exit 10 and while adjacent to his cruiser, was struck by another vehicle traveling southbound.
“Both the Trooper and a portion of the cruisers driver’s side door were hit by the vehicle,” according to Lt. N. Noyes of the NHSP. “The Trooper was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”

According to an alert, the vehicle was a light colored SUV and should have damage on the passenger side mirror and front passenger window. A second state police alert identified the vehicle as a 2002 to 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit was on scene most of the morning handling the initial investigation. The turnpike was down to a single southbound lane for about two hours.
