2 Charged After ‘Granite Shield’ Patrol Near I-93 In Salem

Lisa Lobo of Laconia and Alicia Morin of Northfield were arrested at the I-93 Exit 2 park and ride allegedly with heroin, meth, other items.

SALEM, NH — Two Lakes Region women were arrested earlier this week after police allegedly found them in possession of drugs in Salem, according to police. Lisa M. Lobo, 51, pictured left, of Laconia, was arrested on Nov. 7, 2017, and charged with five counts of possession of a controlled drug. Also arrested was Alicia J. Morin, 30, of Northfield, on a single count of possession of a controlled drug. On Tuesday, officers assigned to work on "Granite Shield," an anti-drug initiative that is being held in numerous New Hampshire communities. were stationed at the I-93 Exit 2 park and ride – a location where a number of overdoses have been reported in recent weeks.

While there, according to Capt. Joel P. Dolan of the Salem Police Department, the officers observed a vehicle parked on the grass with two women inside who reportedly appeared to be looking down at their laps.

“(The) officers spoke with the females and quickly determined they were engaged in illegal drug activity,” Dolan stated. “During the course of their conversation, officers were able to see several pieces of plastic bags in the vehicle consistent with the use of narcotics.”

Dolan alleged that police found heroin and/or fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, a fentanyl transdermal packet system, several Diazepam pills, additional pills identified as Dextroamphetamine, and a pill crusher.

“In addition to the narcotics, numerous items used to ingest illegal narcotics were also located in the vehicle,” he noted.

Both Lobo and Morin were arrested and later, released on personal recognizance bail. They are due in Rockingham County Superior Court on Nov. 17.
