UPDATED: Missing Sex Offender Apprehended

Update, 3:51 p.m. Jeffrey Lyons of the New Hampshire Department of Corrections has issued a statement saying that David Joseph Dionne was returned to the New Hampshire State Prison for Men at 11 a.m. today (March 2, 2015). He had walked away from the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit on Friday afternoon. “I have no further details other than he was apprehended,” Lyons stated.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces that an inmate walked away from the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester and has been placed on escape status.

At 12:50 pm on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, inmate David Joseph Dionne, 42, of Manchester, was given permission to leave the facility to go job seeking. He was scheduled to return at 3:30 p.m. and failed to show, according to a press statement. He was placed on escape status at 5 p.m.

Dionne is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 228 lbs., and has brown hair and blue eyes. He has tattoos on his left knuckles, hand, right forearm, left arm, and left shoulder.

He was sentenced in Merrimack County Superior Court to one to four years in prison with 64 days of time served for Failure to Register as a Sexual Offender. He was admitted to the New Hampshire State Prison on Feb. 5, 2014, and became eligible for parole on Dec. 2, 2014. His maximum release date is Dec. 1, 2017. His single conviction for Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault was from Hillsborough County Superior Court in Manchester in 2005, which he completed in 2010. He also has past misdemeanor convictions for criminal mischief and resisting arrest in the 9th Circuit District Court in Manchester.
