Shooting Reported At Homeless Camp Under Water Street Bridge; 1 Detained, 2 At-Large
Video: Cops are investigating a shooting Saturday morning at a camp; 1 detained; police are still searching for a man and woman involved.
CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating a shooting and threat incident in the homeless camp underneath the Water Street Bridge.
Around 7:30 a.m., dispatch took a report of a shooting in the camp under the bridge. Witnesses reported a man was shot. Two men and one woman, all reportedly armed, fled the area along the railroad tracks toward Bow. The woman was described as short with bleached blond hair in a ponytail. One man was about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, a bit husky, and wearing a blue jacket and a gray jumpsuit. The shooter was described as a man wearing a red sweater or shirt.
Later, police learned only two guns were displayed during the incident, while another suspect was armed with a machete. The woman reportedly displayed a Uzi-style firearm, one officer said.

Concord fire and rescue teams staged at the McDonald’s Restaurant until given the all-clear. The first arriving officer reported the victim was a man who was shot in the back and was taken to Concord Hospital.
An officer requested New Hampshire State Police send a drone or a K-9 to begin tracking the armed people along Hall Street and South Main Street in the area between Bow Junction and the Water Street Bridge.

About 5 minutes after the shooting, police spotted two men in the area, matching the clothing description witnesses gave to police. Later, officers lost sight of the suspects and believed they left the tracks along Interstate 93.
State troopers staged at the 7-11 on South Main Street while Concord police searched Hall Street and the tracks, the area by the Railyard Apartments, and South Main Street.
State police and Bow police questioned a woman at the Circle K Irving off Exit 12, but she was released.
Around 7:45 a.m., police believed they found a man matching the description of the shooter, according to scanner chatter. He was then detained.
Several other people were also detained during the investigation.
