Skabo Wins Intown Concord’s President’s Choice Award

CONCORD, NH - Sean Skabo, the assistant vice president and business lender for Merrimack County Savings Bank (the Merrimack), was the most recent recipient of the President’s Choice Award from Intown Concord earlier this year.

Past winners are selected by the President of the Intown Concord’s Board of Directors for going above and beyond support of the organization’s mission. Skabo was the chosen winner by current Board of Directors’ President, Elyssa Alfieri of Zoe & Co.

“Sean cares about downtown Concord, and everyday he works to keep it vibrant, not only through words, but actions,” said Alfiero. “When Intown Concord needed careful, thoughtful and experienced leadership, Sean was there, and all of us on the Intown board and staff are grateful for his service and commitment.”

“Sean has been on Intown Concord’s volunteer board of directors for two 3-year terms, including a year each as treasurer and president, plus a ‘bonus’ year as president ex-officio,” said Liza Poinier, operations manager at Intown Concord. “Throughout his years of service, Sean has been a helpful, sensible and positive business partner and ally. He actively and frequently promotes downtown Concord as a great place to do business, and has been longtime chair of the economic vitality workgroup, leading the way through a retail gap analysis and his ongoing business recruitment initiatives.”

Skabo was honored at Intown Concord’s Annual meeting at the Kimball-Jenkins Estate in celebration of downtown Concord and the work of Intown Concord throughout the past year.

“I am very grateful for employees, like Sean, who care so much about the community,” said Philip Emma, President of Merrimack County Savings Bank. “Sean’s passion can be seen through his work with Intown Concord which has been responsible for many of the positive changes we’ve experienced.”

Skabo is currently the chair of economic vitality for InTown Concord. He is a past President and the current Treasurer of Hopkinton Rotary Club. Skabo is also active with Families in Transition and the Merrimack County Savings Bank Rock ‘n Race.
