Snow Flurries Cause Crashes In Concord, Capital Region: Watch

A head-on crash on Route 106 in Loudon and a crash on Interstate 393 were reported by fire dispatch on Wednesday.

CONCORD, NH — Snow flurries that made some Concord area streets, roads, and highways a bit slick caused accidents on Wednesday.

Around 5:15 p.m., Loudon fire and rescue teams were sent to the area of the New Hampshire Motor Speedway for a head-on crash. Dispatch told EMTs heading to the crash that there were injuries due to airbag deployments in the cars.

When firefighters arrived, they reported three cars involved in the accident, all with heavy damage, and they requested a second ambulance. The roadway was also down to a single lane.

Arriving firefighters reported two separate accidents, about half a mile apart, in between Exit 1 and Exit 2. They also requested a blocker for traffic. Quickly, firefighters found that the first accident was minor, and moved onto the second one, according to dispatch.

Other firefighters used an engine to block the highway.

The roadway was closed for about an hour.

New Hampshire Department of Transportation trucks were sent to sand both sides of the highway.

Around 7:30 p.m., one lane of the highway was opened.
