CONCORD — A 1974 graduate of St. Paul’s School could be extradited from Virginia to face 11 felony charges of sexual assault stemming from incidents authorities said occurred when he was a student at the Concord prep school four decades ago.

The Fairfax County (Va.) Police Department took 61-year-old Benjamin Baker into custody Monday and charged him with being a fugitive from justice on warrants from the Concord Police Department.

According to the Concord Monitor, Baker is accused of sexually assaulting two children on the school’s campus in the 1970s, both before and after his graduation. Because Baker left the state, he is still subject to prosecution under an exception to the state's statute of limitations governing minors who were sexually assaulted, Concord police Lt. Sean Ford told the Monitor.

"A complaint was brought forward to the school in June 2017 and was reported immediately to the Concord Police Department," St. Paul's School officials said in a written statement, as reported by WMUR-TV. "That investigation culminated in an arrest. St. Paul's School will continue to assist law enforcement with their prosecution."
