The Merrimack is pleased to recognize Patricia (“Pat”) O’Connor of Concord, Retail Administrative Assistant, with its Employee STAR of the Year award. Pat was previously awarded with a STAR of the Month award last February. The STAR of the Year was determined by company-wide vote from the current year’s list of 11 monthly nominees, who were all peer-nominated. Pat was singled out for her outstanding flexibility, meticulous attention to detail and patience. This was the first annual award distributed under The Merrimack’s updated employee STAR program.
As the first annual STAR award winner, Pat received a paid vacation day and cash prize. “I was completely shocked and overwhelmed by the positive feedback from all my co-workers and peers!” said Pat. “I feel very humbled and grateful by the entire experience. The bank has been wonderful place to work.” Paul C. Rizzi, Jr., President and CEO of Merrimack County Savings Bank, presented Pat with the Award earlier this week. Paul read a few examples from the many comments supplied by her peers, “Pat has proven invaluable to our retail department. Pat's attitude, approach and work ethic are just a few attributes that make her a good choice for the STAR Award. She is an employee anyone would like as part of their team. In her own quiet way she consistently goes above what is expected. From the time she arrives at work until the end of day she can be counted on to be at her desk when you need her. Pat is positive in her interactions with customers and employees, and she is extremely effective at producing results.”

STARs are peer-nominated performance awards given to Merrimack employees, chosen by Merrimack employees. From the monthly winners, a STAR of the Year is selected and announced at the annual company dinner. STAR recipients are employees who most embody Merrimack Style, which includes:
