State Trooper Shoots Car Theft Suspect On I-89: NH AG
Breaking: NH AG is investigating officer involved shooting incident on Friday night in Hopkinton on the southbound side of the Interstate.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office is actively investigating an officer involved shooting incident in Hopkinton on May 19, 2017, according to a press statement. At around 7 p.m., a New Hampshire State Police trooper spotted a stolen vehicle from Vermont driving on I-89 South. The driver reportedly stopped on the highway after Exit 7.
“Afterwards, there was a confrontation between the driver and several police officers at the scene,” according to Geoffrey W.R. Ward, an assistant attorney general. “During that confrontation, the driver of the stolen vehicle was shot. He was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital, where he is expected to recover from his injuries.”
No law enforcement officers were physically injured during the incident, the statement noted.

Ward noted that “the circumstances that led to the incident are under investigation,” according to the press statement.
