Storm Update: Wintry Mix Overnight In NH; Snow, Sleet On Friday
Forecasters say "greatest uncertainty" in central, southern New Hampshire; up to 10 inches of snow possible; icy roads through Saturday.
GRAY, ME — The National Weather Service has issued “hazardous weather outlook” and “winter storm warning” alerts for New Hampshire for Thursday through Friday evening.
Forecasters warned of expected “heavy mixed precipitation,” with total snow accumulations of between 3 to 7 inches, possibly as high as 10 inches, in central and southern areas of the state, with “sleet accumulations of around an inch to an inch and a half and ice accumulations of around two-tenths of an inch expected.” Travel conditions, “could be very difficult to impossible,” one alert stated.
At 4 a.m. on Thursday, forecasters said the greatest uncertainty for snow accumulation data covered the Lakes Region south to the capital region, southwestern New Hampshire, and the Seacoast. About seven hours later, more maps were issued by the NWS showing a range of snow in Concord from 1 to 7 inches with 1 to 6 inches for Hillsborough and Rockingham counties.

If residents have to travel, they are advised to keep an extra flashlight as well as food and water on hand, inside vehicles, in case of emergency.
AccuWeather.com, which has been predicting higher snow accumulations on all of its forecasts, is calling for between 3 to 12 inches of snow in central and southern New Hampshire which 12 to 18 inches are expected for the Lakes Region and the North Country.
