Strange Lights Mystery in Concord Solved

Local mom says she, her daughter, and boyfriend, all lit off lanterns on Manchester Street on Saturday night.

CONCORD, NH – The mystery of strange lights, first thought to be UFOs, zipping around the skies of Concord on July 16, 2016, appears to be solved.

Melissa Pevear contacted Concord NH Patch yesterday and provided pictures that she took with her daughter and boyfriend releasing lit lanterns at about the same time a local filmmaker recorded strange lights in the sky.

“All three of us lit and sent off the lanterns there was a purple one, an orange one, and a green one,” she said, noting that they released them while on Manchester Street.

The lights were seen in the eastern part of the city as well as the South End and South Main Street/Bow line area and caused a lot of speculation around the city as to what the “unidentified flying objects” were.
