​Student Filmmakers from NH Shine at May 20 Festival

CONCORD, NH — Now in its 10th year, the 2017 New Hampshire High School Short Film Festival will take place at Red River Theatres in Concord on May 20, beginning at noon. This year’s 24 films include animation, comedy, drama, documentary, music video and public service announcements/commercials, according to a press release from the NH Department of Cultural Resources. They were chosen from 66 entries submitted by students from 16 high schools and career and technical centers.

Presented by the New Hampshire Division of Film and Digital Media, the festival is an opportunity both for students to have their films shown at a professional venue and for the public to experience the state’s up-and-coming creative talent.

The Jury Award Winner for Best Film of the Festival, Jury Award Runner-up, three Jury Award Finalists and the Public Service Announcement Award will be presented at the festival.

The New Hampshire Division of Film and Digital Media, as part of the NH Department of Cultural Resources, works to expand business activity and employment throughout the state by acting as a liaison between the film and media production industry and an established network of government agencies, the state's film industry workforce, New Hampshire businesses and local property owners. The Division is responsible for location assistance, public relations, and general production support in an effort to broaden the cultural, educational, and economic impact of film and media production in the state.
