Teen Allegedly Gets into Scuffle on East Side Drive Again
Concord Police allege that Brett Reno struck a man during an argument while playing capture the flag with friends.

A Concord teen that allegedly cut a neighbor with a knife last summer was involved in another scuffle with a neighbor a few weeks ago.
Brett Reno, 19, of Concord, was arrested at 9:48 p.m. on April 17, and charged with simple assault (personal weapons) and unlawful possession of alcohol.
According to a Concord Police arrest report, an officer was sent to East Side Drive for two reports of an argument or possible assault case. There were about 10 or 11 people at the scene, the officer noted.

Upon arrival, an officer spoke with Reno who alleged that an unknown man came up to him, got in his face, and threatened him. Reno said he and other friends were running around, playing capture the flag, when a man named “Justice” came up to him and began yelling and screaming. Reno said he spoke to the man about the city’s curfew and the man came at him in an aggressive manner.
While speaking to Reno, the officer wrote that he seemed to be intoxicated. His eyes were glassy and red in color, he smelled of alcohol, and was slurring his words, the officer alleged.

The officer then spoke to the other individual, who was reportedly bleeding from his mouth and nose. Concord Fire and Rescue teams arrived at the scene to give that man medical attention.
The man alleged that Reno approached him and was yelling and swearing at him. Another six to eight individuals appeared at the scene and allegedly began threatening him and his son, the man alleged. While talking to the individuals, the man alleged that Reno struck him in the face, knocking off his glasses.
Instead of retaliating, the man called police and left the area with his son, the officer wrote, adding that the man's son corroborated his father’s side of things.
The officer also inspected the man’s glasses, which were clearly bent, as if an assault had taken place, according to the report.
Other witnesses stated that the man was “running his mouth” and confirmed that Reno allegedly hit him.
Reno was then arrested and charged. He was later released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on May 20.
Reno was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, simple assault, criminal mischief (vandalism), and two counts of criminal threatening last July after an altercation with neighbors, according to the police.
