Tenn. Man Arrested for 1990s Concord Child Sex Crimes: Report
An extensive investigation of Ronald "Renny" Burr was launched after a victim raised allegations; cops say there could be more victims.

CONCORD, NH — A Tennessee man was arrested yesterday after a multi-month investigation into child rape allegations forwarded to police by a victim who was a child at the time, according to police. Ronald “Renny” Burr, 54, of Knoxville, TN, was arrested on April 12, 2017, on five counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and two counts of felonious sexual assault, all felonies.

According to Lt. Sean Ford, the commander of the Criminal Investigations Division for the Concord Police Department, detectives arrested Burr in Tennessee yesterday on a fugitive from justice warrant. The investigation of Burr began last December when a victim came forward and raised allegations of “serious and recurrent sexual abuse” during the 1990s, when the victim was a child and living in Concord.

Concord detectives – as well as law enforcement in Tennessee – “conducted an extensive investigation into the allegations,” Ford stated.
“Facts and circumstances were corroborated and evidence collected,” he alleged.

Detectives traveled to the state to further the investigation and charge Burr. With the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service in New Hampshire and the Smoky Mountains Fugitive Task Force, the TBI, the Knoxville Police, Burr was located and arrested.
“New Hampshire and Tennessee authorities continue to investigate the case(s) as there is the possibility of other victims,” Ford noted.
Burr is expected to be arraigned in Knoxville County during the next 10 days and then the state of New Hampshire will extradite him to Concord to face charges.
