CONCORD, NH — A threat on social media against Concord High School has been deemed not credible after a 24-hour investigation into the incident, according to Concord police. Police were made aware of a possible threat against the school, on a Facebook account, Sunday. Detectives, according to Lt. Sean Ford, the commander of the criminal investigations division of the Concord Police Department, "worked tirelessly" on the case and were able to identify everyone involved in the incident.

"Concord Police made contact with the account holder and that person was detained while mental health professionals conducted an evaluation," Ford said. "The investigation revealed that a relative of the account holder gained access to the account holder’s Facebook account and posted a message that was easily interpreted as threatening to school safety. Police have made contact with the suspect and feel confident that no credible threat exists."

Ford said "revenge" between the two individuals appeared to be the motive. Detectives are still investigating the incident. He added that Facebook "did not cooperate with police in this investigation."

After beginning its investigation, police contacted SAU employees, including several high school administrators, and were in regular communication regarding the status of the investigation, in order to "ensure the safety of the school community," Ford said. Added police were also at the school Monday as a precaution.

"We thank the students and parents who saw the original post and immediately reached out to the school district and police officials," Ford said.
