More Than 5,500 Without Power in Concord, Capitol Region
Fast moving storm through area leaves thousands in the dark.

A severe thunderstorm just before midnight on July 20, that produced fast wind gusts, crashing thunder, and flashing lighting, knocked out powers for thousands in Concord and surrounding communities.
Unitil, Concord’s main electric company, was first reporting more than 3,900 customers without power in Concord, Boscawen, Webster, Salisbury, Hopkinton, Chichester, Epsom, Canterbury and Bow.
Power was knocked out at around 11:55 p.m. on July 19, as loud thunderstorms and blasts of lightning crashed through Concord. About 4,300 customers were without power but by 12:25 a.m., that number had increased to more than 4,500 in the region.

PSNH is also reporting outages in Warner, Henniker, Weare, and other communities just west of the city.
At post time, it was unknown how long the power would be out in Concord. Unitil did not offer any comment on its Twitter feed about the power outage as of 12:30 a.m.

At 1:30 a.m., Unitil updated its outage map listing more than 5,500 customers without power.
