Tips Lead To Arrest Of New Hampshire Fugitive Of The Week In The Queen City

CONCORD, NH — Last week’s fugitive of the week has been found and arrested, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Gary Pratt, 53, was featured on Wednesday. He was wanted on a federal warrant after being accused of violating his supervised release after a felon in possession of a firearm conviction. He was believed to be somewhere in Manchester, Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal, said. Both police and the fugitive task force received tips about Pratt being on Westland Avenue in Manchester.

“The Manchester Police Department was able to act on this information early this afternoon and Pratt was arrested without incident,” he said.

Pratt was taken to the Merrimack County Jail. He will be in U.S. District Court in Concord on Wednesday.

According to superior court records, Pratt’s criminal history dates back to the mid-1980s when he was convicted on robbery and theft charges out of Nashua and an escape charge in Manchester. He pleaded guilty to another escape charge in August 1988 and an assault by a prisoner charge in April 1989. A second assault charge was dismissed in August 1990.

In the early 1990s, he was accused of assault again. In Goffstown in July 1994, he was involved in an attempted robbery. Two receiving stolen property felonies in Concord from July 1995 were later dropped.

Pratt pleaded guilty to a burglary in Wilton in April 1996, but a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon charge out of Concord in July 1996 was later nolle prossed.
