Traffic Stop Leads To Theft Warrant, Heroin, Other Charges
Nichole Dempsey of Plymouth and James Deveau of Epping were arrested on Hooksett Road earlier this month.
HOOKSETT, NH — Two New Hampshire residents were arrested on charges after a traffic stop in Hooksett, according to police. Nichole Dempsey, 37, of Plymouth, was arrested on Oct. 10, 2017, for operating after suspension, unregistered vehicle, altering/modifying a temporary registration, and an electronic bench warrant. James Deveau, 48, of Epping, was charged with possession of drugs-heroin. According to police, at around 9:15 p.m., a sergeant spotted an unregistered vehicle on Hooksett Road near Silver Avenue and pulled the vehicle over.

Dempsey was allegedly driving but had a suspended license, according to Sgt. Ducharme of the Hooksett Police Department. A check by dispatch yielded an electronic bench warrant for theft by deception – with $500 cash bail – and she was arrested.
During the stop, a second officer discovered that Deveau was allegedly in possession of heroin and he was arrested. They were both transported to headquarters and processed. Dempsey was held while Deveau was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail.
