U.S. Marshals Seek Tips About Felon, Convicted Assaulter Accused Of Manchester Stabbing
Desmel Cooper, a convicted cocaine dealer who had a shank in prison, was accused of stabbing a man in Manchester, lacerating his liver.

CONCORD, NH — The U.S. Marshals-New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force and Manchester police are asking for the public’s help finding a convicted drug dealer accused of stabbing a man outside a Manchester bar earlier this month.
Desmel Cooper is 40, about 6 feet, 1 inch tall, and weighs around 300 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair but is balding. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Cooper was convicted on a cocaine dealing charge in Vermont in 2011. Andrew Grillo, a deputy marshal, said while in prison, he possessed a shank in 2014.
Cooper was released later and was under federal supervision, Grillo said, when an incident occurred outside the 603 Bar & Grill on Elm Street in Manchester on Feb. 12.

“Cooper allegedly produced a knife and stabbed another man four times, lacerating his liver,” Grillo said. “Manchester PD has a warrant for Cooper’s involvement in this incident — which also triggered a federal supervised release violation warrant held by the U.S. Marshals Service.”
Grillo said Cooper’s had a history “of violent behavior” and was known to “carry a knife.” He also had been accused of threatening police in the past. This is why an “armed and dangerous” alert had been placed on the fugitive status.

Grillo said while investigators were focused on the Manchester area searching for Cooper, he also still had strong ties to the Brooklyn area.
“The public is asked to use caution if encountering Cooper,” he said.
Anyone with information about Cooper was asked to contact the task force at 603-225-1632 or the local police.
