Before the first officers arrived, they were told by police dispatch that the person had died and firefighters cleared the scene about 10 minutes later after officers arrived.
Police put yellow tape around the square to keep the public from the body while officers canvassed the area. Later, cruisers moved to each side of Odd Fellows Avenue to block traffic from the area while waiting for a state medical examiner.
