Update: Concord Fire Eyeing Cause Of State Office Complex Blaze
A home at 5 Howard Road, on the Hugh Gallen Office Complex, was being renovated at the time of the fire on Sunday, which went to 2-alarms.

CONCORD, NH — Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire on the state office complex on Pleasant Street on Sunday.
Concord fire and rescue teams were sent to 5 Howard Road on the Hugh Gallen Office Complex at around 8 p.m. for a report of a fire. The department was informed about the fire after a caller on South Spring Street reported it to dispatch. When they arrived, firefighters found “heavy fire” coming from the east side of the building that had extended to the second floor.

“Crews made an aggressive attack and found the fire had spread to the third floor,” Chief Sean Brown of the Concord Fire Department said. “The second alarm was sounded due to the volume of fire and presence of gusty winds which made controlling the fire difficult at times.”

The fire was contained around 9:15 p.m.
Firefighters from Hooksett, Hopkinton, Loudon, Pembroke, Boscawen, Henniker, and Chichester assisted at the scene. Firefighters from Franklin, Epsom, Dunbarton, and the Penacook Ambulance all provided mutual aid coverage.

Brown said a Manchester unit was canceled prior to arriving in the city. No injuries were reported, he added, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
