About 15 peace activists held a candlelight vigil at the , welcoming the change of seasons, from fall to winter, and acknowledging the end of the occupation of Iraq and the hopeful end of all wars, they said.
Mary Lee Sargent, a long-time peace and social justice activist and board member of the New Hampshire Peace Action Education Fund, spoke, offering a number of things she was thankful for. She praised the movement and while noting that it was great to see large crowds of people coming together around issues, Sargent said peace activists had proven the Margaret Mead quote, about never doubting what a small group of citizens can do to change the world.
Other activists offered their comments, noting that while the occupation was over, the war truly was note, since there were still a number of wounded who needed support and that millions were still suffering in Iraq.
