‘Violent’ ID Fraudster, NH Fugitive Busted in Boston

U.S. Marshals arrested Mark Pate on an outstanding federal warrant, numerous Mass. charges this morning on Mallard Avenue in Dorchester.

CONCORD, NH — A convicted identity thief with alleged violent tendencies wanted for violation of his supervised released was caught this morning in Boston, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Mark Pate, 50, was arrested on May 2, 2017, on Mallard Avenue in Dorchester after marshals received a tip that he might be in that neighborhood of the city. Marshals believed that he could possibly be in the Bay State since he had previously lived in Boston, Dorchester, and Shrewsbury, MA.

U.S. Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White noted that since the New Hampshire Fugitive of the Week post issued in April was accessible on the web, it was seen by a tipster in Massachusetts.

“This information was passed on to our partners at the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Boston, who were able to develop the information which led to today’s successful arrest of Mr. Pate,” White stated. “Mr. Pate also had multiple outstanding Massachusetts arrest warrants for uttering counterfeit papers and larceny under $250 and was processed on these warrants by the Boston Police Department.”

Pate will be arraigned on his Massachusetts warrants at Dorchester District Court today and once released by Massachusetts authorities, will be turned over to the U.S. Marshals on his outstanding federal arrest warrant in New Hampshire, White stated.

“This arrest was made through the cooperative efforts of several members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, including tipsters, media partners, Boston and Cambridge Police Departments, along with deputy U.S. Marshals,” White stated.

Pate was first arrested for identity fraud, forgery, and other charges in Portsmouth in 2011 and was also arrested in Worcester a number of times, according to reports.
