Wave of Hail, T-Storms, Wind Knocks Out Power to Thousands
Eversource, Unitil, Liberty Utilities reporting more than 4,000 customers without power at this hour.
More than 4,000 customers around New Hampshire are without power at this hour after a wave of storms hit the Granite State this afternoon and knocked out power to about 11,000 customers of Until, Eversource, and Liberty Utilities.
The outages began to be reported in the western part of the state at around 3 p.m. on March 17, 2016.
Outages struck around Concord and the capital region at 4 p.m. with tree limbs falling and blocking roads and alarm activations around the city. Merrimack Police reported that Lyons Road leading into Reeds Ferry School was closed due to wires down across the roadway. Joppa Hill Road and Carriage Lane in Bedford were also closed due to trees. Route 152 and Route 156 in Nottingham were reportedly closed while Route 43 in Northwood was also closed. Wires and branches were reported down on roads all around the state, according to alerts on Twitter and Facebook.

At just before 4:30 p.m., Unitil was reporting more than 950 of its customers around the state without power including more than 500 in Concord, as well as outages in Bow, Chichester, Epsom, Hopkinton, Loudon and Webster.
Another 277 in Exeter, 50 in Atkinson, and customers in Kensington, Newton, and South Hampton, too, are without power.

Eversource is reporting more than 8,900 of its customers without mostly in the central and western part of the state. More than 800 in Derry, 508 in Manchester, 361 in Bedford, 127 in Merrimack, 73 in Amherst, and 53 in Milford are all without power.
Eversource is reporting other major and scattered outages in Allenstown, Antrim, Barnstead, Barrington, Belmont, Brentwood, Candia, Canterbury, Dunbarton, Epping, Epsom, Goffstown, Henniker, Hopkinton, Litchfield, Loudon, New Boston, Nottingham, Pembroke, Pittsfield, Sutton, Weare, and Webster.
Liberty Utilities is also reporting nearly 1,000 customers without power, including more than 700 in Salem and 20 in Pelham. Outages are also being reported in Charlestown, Acworth, and Alstead.
At just before 8 p.m., most of the outages of Unitil customers in the capital region and Liberty Utilities customers in the Salem area had power restored. About 350 Seacoast and southeastern New Hampshire customers of Unitil in Exeter and Plaistow are still without power.
Eversource was reporting more than 4,000 customers still without power in southwestern, central, and the eastern part of the state, according to the company's online outage map.
