CONCORD, NH — The state of New Hampshire is under a winter storm watch for most of the state, from the Lakes Region south, with snow expected to hit the state from Sunday through Tuesday. The National Weather Service issued a storm watch alert warning of a "slow moving storm" that will start on Sunday near the Massachusetts border, continuing with "varying intensities," through Monday night and Tuesday morning. The alert was issued just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

"The cause of this snowfall is a complex area of low pressure that will head off the southern New England coastline late this weekend before passing near the Gulf of Maine on Monday," the NWS stated. "There is still some uncertainty of this forecast track."

The storm, nicknamed Winter Storm Ezekiel, has brought all kinds of Thanksgiving holiday travel chaos to most of the country. When it gets to the Northeast, it is expected to bring at least 6 inches of snow to the central and southern parts of the state. But due to the uncertainty, as much 13 to 18 inches could be possible, from Concord to Nashua, with as much as 16 inches on the Seacoast. The snow, according to forecasters, is expected to be heavy.
