GRAY, ME — Weather forecasters have issued a wind chill advisory for Friday and Saturday.

According to an alert on Thursday, the National Weather Service warned that between 7 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday, the combination of bitter cold temperatures and wind will lead to dangerous conditions.

“Another arctic blast is expected Friday night into Saturday as cold air moves into the area on a gusty north wind,” forecasters said. “The combination of very cold temperatures and gusty winds will lead to dangerously cold wind chill values that may reach or exceed Wind Chill Advisory levels Friday night and Saturday.”

“The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes,” the report stated. “Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.”

Another snowstorm will be headed into northern New England on Monday but specific snow totals were not known yet.

“While storm track remains uncertain, there is moderate confidence that a period of moderate to heavy snowfall is possible, especially for more interior areas,” forecasters said. “Strong easterly wind gusts are also possible.”

AccuWeather.com, however, is calling for 3 to 18 inches of snow in New Hampshire between Sunday and Monday.
