Wind Knocks Down Tree, Wires In Concord’s South End
Concord police were sent to South Street for a tree down in the roadway. Part of the intersection was closed to traffic.
CONCORD, NH — Part of South Street was closed to traffic on Wednesday after a tree was knocked down by high winds in the city.
Around 1:30 p.m., Concord police and firefighters were sent area of South and Laurel streets for a report of a tree and wires down. When they arrived, they found a tree knocked down across a sidewalk and partially in the street. Unitil power lines were also down across the street.
Police shut down the street between Laurel and Thorndike streets.

Branches and part of the tree struck a silver Toyota sedan with Massachusetts plates parked on South Street.
Unitil was notified that the power lines were down.

As of 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Concord has a few dozen Unitil customers without power due to the storm and wind.
