Wrong-Way Drunk Driver Arrested By NHSP: Report

Allen Peterson of Manchester was arrested this morning allegedly driving south in the northbound lane on I-93 in Concord.

CONCORD, NH — A Queen City man was arrested this morning by New Hampshire State Police after allegedly nearly crashing into trooper cruisers being sent to a call in Concord, according to a report. Allen Peterson, 26, of Manchester, was arrested on April 7, 2018, for driving under the influence, reckless operation, and disobeying a police officer. At around 4:45 a.m. this morning, troopers were driving north on I-93 in Concord, responding to a call for service, when they encountered a wrong-way driver.

“(The) troopers were able to avoid collision with the vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lane and communicate to other troopers in the area of the hazard,” according to Sgt. Vincent Grieco of Troop D.

A trooper sergeant then made contact with the vehicle on I-93 North in Bow and attempted to stop the vehicle.

“The vehicle again failed to stop and narrowly avoided colliding with the cruiser,” Grieco stated.

A fourth trooper stopped northbound traffic, in an effort to keep other vehicles from potentially colliding with the alleged wrong-way driver. The trooper sergeant then changed the direction of travel, paralleled the vehicle, and eventually, was able to get it to stop.

The driver, Allen, was then arrested.
