Mirsky: Steve Marchand for Governor
My view of the race for Governor of New Hampshire in 2016.

I want to talk with you about a Democratic Candidate of Governor of New Hampshire who many of us in the New Hampshire Seacoast area know very well. He is Steve Marchand of Portsmouth, formerly the Mayor of Portsmouth. Mr. Marchand became Mayor of Portsmouth by knocking on just about every door in Portsmouth, and speaking with just about anybody who had anything to say.
And he listened.
And that is what Steve Marchand does. He listens to voters and tries to accomplish things that voters actually want. Things like personal freedom, ending discrimination, creating jobs, improving safety, things that all people care about here in New Hampshire.

Those of us who live in New Hampshire, whether we were born here, whether we grew up here, whether we went to school here, or whether we just chose this beautiful place as the place where we wanted to raise our families, because it is the best state in the country, we expect to have leaders who listen to us.

Steve Marchand has been dedicated to the idea of public service for as long as I have known him, and I’m sure much longer than that. I have known Steve Marchand for a long time. I have spoken with Steve at length about political matters over coffee. He is the real deal, loves politics, loves New Hampshire, and Steve Marchand, son of French Canadian immigrants, loves America. Steve is a rational, caring, thinking human being, very bright, very interested in improving the New Hampshire economy, a pure public servant.
Steve Marchand is running for Governor of New Hampshire, in the Democratic Primary, which takes place this Tuesday, Sept. 13. I have been impressed by all three Democrats running for New Hampshire Governor this year (the other two major candidates are Mark Connolly and Colin Van Ostern), but since I can only vote for one, I'm voting for Steve Marchand.
