Mirsky: Donald Trump - He's No Sarah Palin

You have watched Donald Trump on the world stage, preening, looking goofy, being rude, nasty, chasing after U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas who had the temerity to refuse to endorse Trump.

Think about whether there is any woman in America who would have behaved like Trump did this week or this past year. I bet you can’t think of anyone. Not even Sarah Palin, whose reality TV show, “Sarah Palin’s Alaska”, shows her most thoughtful and compassionate side. I would characterize Sarah Palin’s reality TV show as a demonstration of what it’s like trying to keep your family together after the disaster of worldwide celebrity tries to blow it up. But this is not an article about Sarah Palin.

Not even Tina Fey imitating Sarah Palin could have behaved the way Donald Trump did this past week.

Why not?

Because there is no woman on the American political scene who is as stupid as Donald Trump. We have come to the bottom of the barrel folks, we have the richest, loudest, nastiest, foulest candidate for President in United States history.

He’s the Republican Party’s Man.

I guess if you insist on having a man be the next President of the United States, you will have to accept the worst that men have to offer. You will have to accept Donald Trump.

I have been watching American Presidential elections since I was very little, having some memory of John F. Kennedy either being elected or inaugurated. I’m not sure which. But I know JFK was smiling, because that is something he did all the time in public. John Kennedy smiled because he loved life, he loved people, he loved America.

We need a President who loves America.

I am not going to use my space here to tell you how to vote. Maybe you are going to write in Ted Cruz.

As a Democrat, and as a person who supports Hillary Clinton for President, wholeheartedly, I won’t be writing in Ted Cruz.
