• Franconia Ridge rescue of 4 NJ teens and what went wrong (wpgtalkradio.com) — A group of four 18-year-olds from New Jersey had to be rescued Friday night while hiking on Franconia Ridge in the White Mountains, after one developed leg pain and breathing trouble. Conservation officers and volunteers hiked over four miles in strong winds and cold temperatures to guide them out, and state officials say the teens will likely be billed for the rescue because they were poorly prepared.
