Loud 'Relations' Lead to Arrest; Illegal Sales Violations

Several significant calls highlight this North Hampton police log.

The following entries are excerpts from arrest and call logs supplied by the North Hampton Police Department. The information does not indicate a conviction.

MONDAY, JAN. 23

  • 2:30 p.m. — Thomas Roswell Davis, of Somersworth, was charged with suspended registration and operating after suspension after police stopped his vehicle near 46 Lafayette Road. Davis was held on $600 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled for arraignment in Hampton District Court on March 14.

  • 1:25 p.m. — A woman called to report that two individuals in a red Chevrolet Silverado pickup with a license plate of 1700684 were selling gravel door-to-door in the area of Post Road and Walnut Avenue. An officer was able to make contact with the vehicle and the individuals, who admitted to "trying to sell gravel in North Hampton without a permit." Both men — George W. Stanley, of Exeter, and Michael W. Stanley, of Peabody, Mass. — were issued a $100 town ordinance violation and were advised to apply for a peddlers permit in the future.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 25

  • 7 p.m. — A woman reported a suspicious white van had come to her aunt's North Hampton home "several times" in the last few days to ask if her aunt wanted to purchase stones for her driveway. She said her aunt didn't know the make, model or license plate of the van, although wanted to call and inform police anyway. At 8 p.m., the woman called police again after she was able to obtain a license plate number for the vehicle after speaking with "a worker" about the vehicle. The vehicle came back to a George W. Stanley, of Rochester, who "denied ever being in North Hampton" when contacted by an officer. Stanley did not have a hawkers/peddlers permit and the officer told him he would be issued a town ordinance violation in the department were to receive similar complaints in the future.

FRIDAY, JAN. 27

  • 3:30 p.m. — Christopher D. Plourde, a transient with a last known address in Stewartstown, was arrested at Pine Haven Motel and charged with criminal mischief. Plourde was transported to Rockingham County House of Corrections on $500 cash bail.

SUNDAY, JAN. 29

  • 1:59 a.m. — An officer arrived at the Slumber Manor Motel due to a loud noise complaint. The complaining party reported that a couple inside another room could be heard "yelling" and "sounded like they were bouncing off the walls inside the room." The officer spoke with a woman inside the room in question, and she stated she was "just having intimate relations" with a man and said they would "keep it down." A noise warning was issued.
  • 2:38 a.m. — An officer responded back to the Slumber Manor Motel after the couple began "yelling" again. The officer attempted to give them a final disorderly conduct warning, but the individuals didn't respond to several knocks on the door. The individuals had "quieted down" and the complaining party said he would call back if they "acted up again."
  • 8:41 a.m. — Police made a follow-up visit to Slumber Manor Motel and arrested Mark Christopher Blackburn, of North Hampton, who was one of the individuals making noise earlier in the morning. Blackburn was arrested on two active electronic bench warrants and on a protection order violation. Blackburn was given no bail and transported to the Rockingham County House of Corrections to await arraignment in Hampton District Court on Jan. 30.
