Parts of Route 1A, Route 286 Closed Due to Fire

UPDATED: Route 1A is open but emergency vehicles are still along the road so use caution.

SEABROOK, NH - According to the Seabrook Fire Department, Route 1A is closed from Route 286 to Hooksett Street due to a fire on Newbury Street. Seek alternative routes.

The fire went to three alarms at around 8:15 a.m. on June 24, 2016, according to alerts online, with Hampton Fire and Rescue teams also called in for mutual aid.

Janet Vaughn of the American Red Cross noted this morning that the org was assisting a family displaced by the fire.

"Red Cross Disaster Action Team volunteers will meet with the residents and ensure they have a safe place to sleep and have food, clothing, and other essentials," she stated. "Over the next several days, Red Cross client casework volunteers will stay in contact with the residents and provide referrals as they begin their road to recovery."
