Woman Cited After Crash in North Hampton

New Hampshire State Police clear two-vehicle accident on I-95 this morning.

North Hampton Fire and Rescue teams along with New Hampshire State Police were called to an accident this morning on I-95 in North Hampton, according to a report.

According to the preliminary investigation of the crash, a 2009 Toyota Corolla, being driven by a woman from Raymond, was traveling north on I-95 when she reportedly “slowed and attempted to make a left turn onto the emergency vehicle only crossover just north of the open road tolling lanes.” A 2008 Pontiac Vibe, being driven by a man from Maine, was a short distance behind the Corolla.

The Corolla driver reportedly attempted an “illegal maneuver” and turned directly into the other vehicle’s path causing the accident, according to state police.

“Both vehicles collided and blocked the left travel lane,” according to Sgt. Keith Walker. “It was necessary to close the left two travel lanes for approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes as Troopers investigated this collision and for the removal of these vehicles.”

The owner of the Corolla was cited for unsafe lane change and also taken to Exeter Hospital. The other driver and a passenger of the Vibe were treated at the scene.
