1. Volunteers needed for the 30th annual Source to Sea River Cleanup (vermontjournal.com) — Keene residents are invited to join the Sept. 19 Source to Sea Cleanup, with local sites in Keene and Swanzey offering both on-foot and small-boat trash collection. Registration is encouraged through the Cheshire County Conservation District, which will provide bags, gloves, and limited T-shirts. Numerous Keene organizations and the city itself are partnering to support the effort.
   

2. Cheshire Medical Center adds new radiation unit to expand cancer care in Keene (magic967.com) — Keene's Cheshire Medical Center has added a second linear accelerator, expanding local radiation therapy and cutting wait times for cancer patients at its Court Street campus. Hospital leaders say the $42.7 million upgrade will reduce travel burdens, ease strain on the older machine, and bring more advanced imaging and treatment options to patients across Cheshire County.
   

3. Trial dates in connection with Keene woman's overdose death pushed back (wmur.com) — Court proceedings in the death of a Keene woman have been delayed, meaning the two defendants accused in her 2024 overdose death may not face juries until next spring and summer. Both have been jailed since last year, and prosecutors expect each trial to last nearly a week. The case centers on allegations she was beaten, drugged, and removed from a Keene home.
   

4. Brattleboro VA Outpatient Clinic resumes normal operations (unionleader.com) — While the Brattleboro VA clinic has now fully reopened after repairs, many local veterans previously relied on the VA clinic in Keene for care during the closure. The update confirms normal operations in Brattleboro and provides contact numbers, but also underscores Keene's ongoing role as a nearby option within the VA system.
