The story follows Frank Barker, a young Keene man seeking fortune, and copies will be available to buy or borrow locally.

National Parks and Recreation Month Proclamation – July 2, 2026 (keenenh.gov) — Keene residents are encouraged by Mayor Jay Kahn to celebrate July 2026 as Parks & Recreation Month, highlighting how local parks, trails, and programs support health and community connection. The proclamation honors city staff and volunteers and invites you to explore Keene's outdoor spaces and recreation offerings throughout the month and beyond.
   

3. Five Fall Drives Around the Monadnock Region (mykeenenow.com) — Keene drivers can enjoy a classic foliage trip along Route 12 from Keene to Walpole, with stops in downtown Keene and nearby orchards and villages. A regional roundup of scenic routes, current 5–15% color conditions, and safety tips helps you plan flexible leaf-peeping outings around the Monadnock Region over the coming weeks.
   

4. Suspect in alleged assault, manhunt held without bail (wmur.com) — A man accused of assault and then leading police on a multi-day search through southwestern New Hampshire, including vehicle thefts and chases in and around Keene, is being held without bail. He was ultimately arrested outside the Keene Walmart and will remain jailed until a probable cause hearing next week, after pleading not guilty to several misdemeanor charges and not entering pleas on felonies.
