Londonderry Man Charged With Second-Degree Murder

LONDONDERRY, NH — A Londonderry man with a long criminal history was arrested on a murder charge Wednesday, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office. Brandon Castiglione, 24, was accused of second-degree murder. He was charged with "recklessly causing the death of Luis Garcia, age 60, under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life" on Oct. 1 on Ridgemont Drive in Londonderry, the attorney general's office said.

The relationship between Castiglione and Garcia is unknown at post time.

Officials stated Wednesday morning that Castiglione is expected to be arraigned in Rockingham County Superior Court later today.

"The investigation remains ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes available while protecting the integrity of the investigation," said Kate Spiner, director of communications for the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.

According to posts on Patch, Castiglione has been arrested a number of times since he was a teenager. In 2013, he and a family member were arrested twice on drug charges. Castiglione was charged with possession, manufacturing, and distribution charges. Also in May of that year, he was arrested on a simple assault charge.

In 2017, he was arrested on a warrant and resisting arrest charge at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. Also that year, he was arrested by the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department on a judge's order for failure to appear at a review hearing on a possession of a narcotic drug charge

In June 2015, he was arrested on a driving under the influence of drugs or liquor charge in Londonderry. In January 2012, when Castiglione was 17, he was arrested on simple assault and criminal mischief/vandalism charges.
