Tucker Suspends Congressional Campaign
State Rep: Time was not right for a run; she's the second Republican to drop out of the race to challenge Frank Guinta in recent weeks.

GREENLAND, NH – Republican state representative Pam Tucker has decided to suspend her campaign for Congress in the First Congressional District, according to a statement.
Tucker stated that her young family was the main reason for ending her effort to challenge incumbent U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta, R-NH.
“I am so grateful to the many friends and supporters who have sacrificed so much for this campaign,” she said. “But with a young family and three daughters, it has become increasingly clear in recent days that now is not the right time for a congressional campaign.”

Back in late March, Dan Innis, another challenger, who ran in 2014, also suspended his effort to challenge Guinta.
The only Republican left in the race to challenge Guinta is Rich Ashooh, who previously ran in 2010.

Tucker said that while she was ending her campaign she believed that the country “must change course in Washington” and she was “committed to helping a conservative represent the First District.”
She added, “But my first and primary commitment must always be with family. I want to thank all of my supporters, volunteers, and contributors who placed their faith in me. Thank you.”
Democrats have two potential candidates running for the seat: Former U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, D-NH, and Shawn O’Connor.
