Tucker to Run for Congress
Greenland Republican state representative to challenge Frank Guinta and Dan Innis for GOP nomination in the 1st Congressional District.

GREENLAND, NH - A Republican state representative says she is in the race for the Republican nomination to represent the 1st Congressional District in Congress.
State Rep. Pam Tucker, R-Greenland, announced on Feb. 17, 2016, that she would be challenging current U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta, R-NH, and Dan Innis, another Republican who is seeking the nomination.
“A new day for America starts with new, conservative leadership and a fresh, can-do approach to Washington decision-making,” she said in a statement. “Many have concluded, sadly, that our nation’s problems are too big, and Washington’s special interests too entrenched, to actually make a difference. This does not need to be America’s destiny.”

Tucker said she was running for Congress to put “a positive, forward-looking, reform-oriented agenda into practice,” as representatives have done in New Hampshire.
“Where we faced our fiscal challenges with spending restraint and common sense,” she said. “ We rose to the challenge in our state; now, it is beyond time to make the difficult decisions in Washington. Let’s free ourselves from the threat of radical Islamic fundamentalism by defeating ISIS once and for all and putting a stop to Iran’s nuclear program. Let’s rebuild our military. Likewise, here at home, let’s unleash our economy and future generations from crippling debt and job-killing policies by reining in wasteful spending and create an environment in which entrepreneurs, working families and small businesses can once again prosper.

Tucker said that Republicans deserve to have a nominee with a proven conservative record who can also draw “a stark contrast between the establishment candidates of both parties on the issues” and asked voters to “Imagine what a fresh perspective and conservative leadership could bring to Washington, particularly with a new, reform-oriented President.”
I believe America’s best days can still lie ahead of her, she stated.
Tucker is a mother, businesswoman and state legislator who has worked on solving problems without raising taxes or creating new government bureaucracy, according to an online biography.
Guinta, according to an announcement last month, is also running for re-election. Innis announced in October 2015 that he would also be running for Congress. He unsuccessfully ran in 2014. Tucker was considering a run in 2014 but decided against it. Whoever wins the Republican primary will face off against the winner of the Democrat primary between former U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, D-NH, and Shawn O’Connor, in the general election.
