📰 News we're reading

• Manchester Mayor Forms Task Force On Sununu Youth Services Center Property (patch.com) — Manchester residents are being invited to help shape the future of the Sununu Youth Services Center property through a new task force formed by Mayor Jay Ruais. The group, which includes city officials, neighbors, and local experts, will study traffic, land use, neighborhood character, and economic opportunities, then share recommendations and host public forums so Manchester's priorities influence the state's redevelopment plans.

• Veto override brings over $221 million to I-293 exit renovations (inklink.news) — More than $221 million is now headed to overhaul I-293 Exits 6 and 7 in Manchester after lawmakers overrode Gov. Kelly Ayotte's veto. The projects will widen the highway, redesign both exits, and address long-standing safety worries local drivers know as "Amoskeag Roulette," despite concerns about higher tolls statewide.

• Scammers posing as FBI target NH residents (unionleader.com) — Federal agents are warning New Hampshire residents, including Manchester seniors, about scammers posing as FBI officials and pushing victims to use bitcoin machines. A Manchester couple lost thousands in a similar scheme, while a Varney Street Quick Stop recently stopped three seniors from losing $17,000, and new state rules will soon cap and delay large crypto-kiosk transactions.
