Manchester's New Tourism Group Picks Its First Executive Director, Formerly Of Intown Concord (patch.com) — Manchester's new destination marketing group, Visit Manchester, NH, has chosen longtime resident Jessica Martin as its first executive director to boost tourism and downtown vitality. The organization plans strategic marketing, signature events, and partnerships with local businesses to highlight the city's attractions, with a public launch event set for Sept. 30 at the REX Theatre.
   

2. Nominee for soon-to-be-vacant Manchester school board seat discussed (unionleader.com) — A Ward 7 seat on Manchester's Board of School Committee will soon open as member Christopher Potter resigns after moving out of the city, and Alderman Ross Terrio plans to nominate longtime resident Randy Tremblay as his temporary replacement. Tremblay's deep roots in Manchester schools, youth sports, and community volunteering are highlighted as aldermen prepare to consider nominations at an upcoming Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting.
   

3. United Way Announces Annual Coat Drive (newenglandnewspress.com) — Manchester residents can donate new or like-new winter coats at Cleary Cleaners on Hooksett Road or the New Hampshire Fisher Cats stadium to support families statewide facing the cold. Donations are accepted through October 23, with nonprofits able to pick up coats at the Fisher Cats' park on October 30 and November 2, helping ensure vulnerable neighbors stay warm this winter.
   

4. Two inmates placed on escape status from Manchester transitional housing unit (wmur.com) — Two minimum-security inmates failed to return Monday from a Manchester transitional housing unit after signing out to seek work, and are now on escape status. State corrections officials released detailed descriptions and ask anyone who spots them, especially near Delta Dental Stadium or elsewhere in the city, to contact local police or the Department of Corrections Investigations Bureau.
   

5. BFA-St. Albans cross country races at 54th Manchester Invitational (samessenger.com) — Manchester hosted the 54th Annual Manchester Invitational cross country meet, drawing BFA-St. Albans and other top New England teams for a full slate of freshman, JV, and varsity races. Runners posted strong times on the well-known two‑mile and 5K courses, with several athletes earning medals and setting new internal team benchmarks on the Manchester layout.
